More than just looks;
Your home remodel will look no better than the quality of the parts and fixtures used to construct it and the skilled labor of the professionals you choose to install them.
In other words I personally find it best to buy the best quality products and components possible to restore and remodel with. Quality products have attractive finishes that look great and last for a lifetime. The best fixtures are easy to install and usually work smoothly and as advertised. When building a home it does not pay to cut corners on the quality of the materials necessary to construct the final product.
If your contractor is aware that you desire fine quality materials and fixtures he can keep labor costs at a fair value. It is much easier and faster for him to build with well made components and this translates into labor savings and added value for you.
