The contractor you choose should be skilled in ALL building trades. This opens the door for on – the – spot changes in finish design.
Why should my contractor be experienced in Drywall, Stucco, Plaster, Plumbing, Electrical, Lighting, Carpentry, Finish Carpentry, Landscape Construction, Rock Gardens, Sprinklers, Trellis – Arbors, Decks, and Plants ? When you hire a professional and his company with multiple trade experience they will bring that experience and vision to your project. It’s like having a designer – architect on site working with your construction team. They will be able to see the best possibilities in the finish design beyond the limits of paper plans and sketches.
I can not count the times I have made design change recommendations to clients that became very important improvements to the final house finish. Architects are a very important design asset but they can’t see everything on paper, having a design – builder working full time on site is invaluable. The designer – builder will help you get the best value for the time and money being invested into your restoration project.
Bottom line make sure the contractor you choose has experience in most if not all building trades. Having a designer on your project will make a big difference in the quality of the finish product – Dave Mason 7/14/19
